The need to be able to rely on cardan transmissions that guarantee high performance and reliability for an increasingly demanding market has led Eurocardan to develop the professional Plus and X-Plus lines.
The Plus and X-Plus cardan transmissions are Eurocardan's highest levels in terms of quality, performance and transmitted power, being able to cover working powers of up to 400 HP (with sizes 12 and 14 of X-Plus).
In full compliance with the Full Made in Italy that characterises Eurocardan, the Plus and X-Plus lines are made according to strict technical requirements, using materials and components of the highest quality, which give these transmissions unique characteristics.
The unique features of the Plus and X-Plus cardan transmissions
The anthracite grey colour makes the Plus and X-Plus transmissions immediately recognisable, equipped with cap support ring nuts made of self-lubricating graphite material that offer greater resistance against the constant friction of rotating components.
The patented York profile (on request on Plus, standard in X-Plus) that characterises the telescopic pipes allows a more uniform and regular distribution of energy thanks to the wider contact surfaces, a particularly important factor in the transmission of higher powers.
The particular "Y" section of the respective internal and external profiles creates areas where lubricating grease accumulates which, as a result of the centrifugal force, guarantees constant lubrication of the contact surfaces and lengthens the maintenance frequencies (doubling them with respect to the profiles of common use), thereby maximising working times.
The transmissions can also be equipped with the GS patented automatic greasing system, which allows the telescopic pipes of the transmission to be quickly lubricated, thus minimising machine downtime. The lubricant, pumped into the grease nipple next to the internal fork, flows into the distributor, spreading in the independent ducts up to the holes in the internal transmission pipe, from which it flows out to expand between the contact surfaces. The entire operation therefore takes place without decoupling the semi-joints (keeping the two ends inserted in the PTO and in the PIC), intervening through a single point.
The high performance and longevity of the cardan are also ensured by the quality of the cross joints.
The special cross joints fitted on the Plus and X-Plus transmissions have been developed with the aim of providing a longer transmission life (up to 4 times compared to a standard cross joint) while increasing the maintenance frequencies of up to 200 hours. This is guaranteed by the materials used and by the innovative sealing system that prevents the escape of lubricant and the entry of dust.
In addition, the arms of the cross joints on which the evolving rollers run are made in a larger diameter than those used on the cardans of the Master line. And the presence of gaskets, three radial and one axial, prevents the dust from affecting product efficiency over time.
The precise combination of all these elements gives the Plus and X-Plus products unique characteristics in terms of the technology used for their design and production.
They therefore excel as ideal solutions for manufacturers and professionals seeking reliability and performance, in which the risks of downtime are minimised and the work of agricultural machines is maximised.
